THE PIKE-SPEAR
GIÁO-SÓC
The « Pike-Spear Giáo-Sóc » () was a weapon specially designed for Cutting much more thanThrusting, and appeared since the « Spring and Autumn Period » (Thời-đại Xuân-Thu - 春 秋 時 代 - 722-481 BC), i.e. afterwards the Antique Halberd Qua and the Spear Thương.
Since the Period of ÐƯỜNG (TANG) Dynasty (618-907 BC) and those of KIM (JIN) Dynasty (1111-1234 AD), there were still confusions between Pertuisane Mâu (矛) and Pike « Sóc - 槊 ». But in truth, the Chasse-Spear Pike Giáo-Sóc was not comparable with the Pertiisane Mâu in combat against the Shield Thuẫn, but it was truthly deadful against other medieval weapons
